SECC Intel Coordinator Position Description

The SECC Intelligence Coordinator performs traditional Expanded Dispatch Coordinator or
Supervisory Dispatcher duties, coupled with ICS Planning Section Chief responsibilities
for Documentation and Resources. Additional, all-risk tasks include:
- Contribute to preparation of the SECC Action Plan.
- Establish a daily briefing/Action Plan Review cycle to ensure communication of
intelligence information.
- Ensure coordination with local jurisdictions to ascertain situation status.
- Guide Information Management Technical Specialists in preparation of event-specific
maps, spreadsheets, databases and graphics to support overall intelligence gathering
effort.
- Prepare the Daily SECC Disaster Emergency Event Situation Analysis for the Governor's
Office [see attachment to Tab D, Operations] and the SECC Daily Situation Update [see
attachment to this Tab].
- Brief the DMVA Commissioner, affected agencies and the Governor's Disaster Policy
Cabinet on current event intelligence.
- Ensure Intelligence function compliance with State Emergency Operations Plan.
- Serve as Deputy SECC Manager.
The Intelligence Coordinator is responsible for the duties of each subordinate
Intelligence Section position and may order qualified personnel to perform those duties as
the situation requires.
