Mr. Jerry Beale Biography
VETERANS AFFAIRS Jerry Beale Jerry Beale was appointed to serve as Alaska’s Veterans Affairs Administrator September 2004. He is responsible to develop and sustain a comprehensive statewide Veterans Advocacy program. Born in Independence, Missouri in 1950, he graduated in 1968 from William Chrisman High School where he lettered in track, wrestling and football. Additionally, he was a Boy Scout earning the rank of Eagle as well as the God and Country Award. In 1971, Jerry enlisted in the United States Air Force. After tours in Mississippi, Florida, Colorado, and Iceland, he was transferred to Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage, Alaska, arriving in August 1988. He retired from the Air Force in June 1997 as a Chief Master Sergeant so he and his family could stay in Alaska. Jerry has worked in Seward and Anchorage, Alaska. His public service includes working for the United Way of Anchorage and the Municipality of Anchorage under former Mayor George Wuerch. Jerry received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Wayland Baptist University (Anchorage) in 1995. He is married to the former Pamela Fay Corkwell of Chillicothe, Ohio. They have two daughters: Tammy and Amanda and five grand children: Jordan, Jolena, Kammin, Jacob, and Matthew, all living in Anchorage. |
