Governor Presented with Flag
Fort Richardson, Alaska -- Governor Sarah Palin smiles after
receiving an Alaskan flag flown on a Humvee in Southern Iraq. The
flag was presented to her by Lt. Col. David Osborn and Sgt. Maj. Alan
Feaster of the Alaska Army National Guard’s 3rd Battalion,
297th Infantry. Osborn and Feaster were two of 575
soldiers that served in Kuwait and southern Iraq from October 2006 to
October 2007 and were visited by Governor Palin this past July. The 3rd
Battalion consolidated Guardsmen from more than 80 Alaska communities
and was the largest Alaska National Guard mobilization since World War
II.
