Alaska Army National Guard Transformation Enhances
Opportunities, Relevance
FORT RICHARDSON, Alaska
– Spc. James Bates, a
military police officer with A Company, 49th Missile
Defense Battalion out of Fort Greely, Alaska, sits in the turret of an
1151 up-armored Humvee, fitted with an M-240B machine gun. This Humvee
is new equipment allocated to the 38th Troop Command and is
equipped with a fire suppression system, electrical turrets and doors
that can stop improvised explosive devices.
