New Year's Day: Boarding the Plane to Afghanistan
Members of the Alaska Air National Guard board the plane that will
carry them and their gear to Afghanistan for rotations lasting from 60
to 180 days. Leaving on New Year’s Day, the Airmen will put critical
skills gained from Alaska training and rescue missions to use
overseas, “so that others may live.”
