297th Support Battalion Soldiers Welcomed Home FORT RICHARDSON, Alaska –Brig. Gen. J. Randy Banez, 207th Infantry Group Commander, gives a commander’s coin to Spc. Jeremy Simeonoff, May 1 prior to the official Welcome Home Ceremony for the Alaska Army National Guard’s 297th Support Battalion. Banez gave commander’s coins to several Soldiers who were previously awarded Bronze Stars with Valor and Purple Hearts. While deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Simeonoff acted as a driver and gunner for 3rd Platoon.
