What are the dangers of avalanches and/or landslides?

  • Falling/sliding debris can hurt you or damage your vehicle

  • Large coastal landslides can cause tsunamis

  • Damages to structures, utilities, and transportation routes greatly hamper rescue efforts

What can I do today?

  • Learn to identify avalanche and landslide terrain (see links below)

  • Be smart, don't walk on terrain that you are not familiar with

  • Carry emergency food and supplies in case you are trapped

  • Check out the links below, they are a great source of information!
