What are the dangers of avalanches and/or
landslides?
Falling/sliding debris can hurt you or damage your vehicle
Large coastal landslides can cause tsunamis
Damages to structures, utilities, and transportation routes greatly
hamper rescue efforts
What can I do today?
Learn to identify avalanche and landslide terrain (see
links below)
Be smart, don't walk on terrain that you are not
familiar with
Carry emergency food and supplies in case you are
trapped
