- Water: Three-seven days worth for soaking and misting. Certain species (chameleons) only
drink water if it is misted/dripped on leaves. Your veterinarian may be able to provide an
IV bag and tubing to construct a drip system.
- Food: Certain species of reptiles can eat prepared diets. Other species rely on
fresh/frozen prey items. It may not be possible to store food for your reptile, especially
if you're without electricity.
- Small aquarium/kennel for transport.
- Newspaper for cage liner. Paper towels, garbage bags & disinfectant (see bird
section).
- Pillowcase for transporting snakes.
- Cardboard boxes for hide boxes in aquarium.
- Styrofoam cooler to keep pets cool.
- Spare full spectrum lights & heat lamps. Keep in mind that electricity may be off.
- Empty plastic jugs: Can serve as a heat source if the power is off (providing you have
access to heated water).
- Pictures/descriptions of your reptiles. Include handling instructions--some disaster
workers may not be familiar with handling reptiles.
