Disaster Assistance Center Opens In Juneau
25 applications for Assistance completed in Haines and Klukwan
JUNEAU, Alaska --- Alaska Division of Emergency Services (ADES) personnel spent two days on December 3 and 4 taking applications for Individual and Family Grant assistance for residents of Haines city and borough and the village of Klukwan. ADES officials report a total of 25 applications were completed from these areas, with more expected to come in on the toll free hotline.
On December 7 and 8, from 10am to 8pm, the Disaster Assistance team will be taking applications in Juneau at the Subport Building. Verifiers will remain in town throughout the week to document the applicants’ damages.
Storm damages reported by applicants include everything from entire hillside sloughing to minor roof water damage, reports Marty Fine, Emergency Management Specialist performing damage verifications.

1-800-834-2177. The deadline to apply for assistance for this disaster is January 24, 1999.
