Y2K WATCH TEAM ASSEMBLES AT CAMP DENALI
State, Federal, and Private agencies gather to respond to possible Y2K disruptions
CAMP DENALI, Alaska --- The State is busy assembling a team of experts from many of the 14 departments (of State government) at the State Emergency Coordination Center at Camp Denali.
They will work 24-hour shifts from now through the 3rd of January. "This is a great opportunity to train multi-agency responders for future emergencies while also being available in case of Y2K disruptions," said Major Mike Haller, spokesman for the Y2K Joint Information Center.
The Division of Emergency Services, the Department of Environmental Conservation, Department of Health and Social Services, the Alaska State Defense Force and the Army and Air National Guard are among those represented.
