Mr. John Fulton is an Emergency Management Program Specialist, Individual Assistance (IA), with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Bothell, Washington. His primary role is to serve as the mass care coordinator for Region X. In this position, he works to develop Region X IA program delivery in the field as a supporting member of the Region X Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT), executes duties in Mass Care and acts as an Individual Assistance Liaison. Mr. Fulton is involved in the development of National Mass Care strategies and trainings.
Mr. Fulton has responded to multiple disasters including most recently Hurricane’s Sandy, Isaac, Irene, Lee and the Mississippi floods and tornado’s of 2011.
Prior to FEMA, Mr. Fulton was a EMS coordinator for the Frenchtown Fire Department in Montana where he coordinated training and exercises. During his tenure there, he revitalized training programs, and supported the growth of the departments EMS program by increasing the number of cross trained EMT’s by 50%. Mr. Fulton also partnered with the Forest Service by providing CPR, First Aid and rope rescue training to members of the Nine Mile Ranger District.
As a Purchasing Agent for the Hussmann Corporation in Seattle, WA, his organizational expertise was used to reduce inventory and focus on supply chain management for a seven state area of the Western US.
Mr. Fulton’s educational background includes completion of a Para medicine course, Hazardous Materials Technician, High Angle Rescue Technician and Swift Water Rescue Technician 1. Mr. Fulton has also has received many awards including a letter of commendation from the Seattle Fire Department.
Mr. Fulton currently resides in North Bend WA.
